What is a sewer scope

Updated: Feb 24, 2021

What is a sewer scope and should you get one? It might seem like an unnecessary cost or add on to your home inspection but its a small price to pay to ensure you wont find one of the biggest and most expensive defects of a house later on. A sewer scope is a video inspection of the lateral sewer line leading from the house at/near the foundation and connecting to the city or HOA tap or septic tank. The camera look's for cracks and anything that will cause blockage for the house to the main sewer line. Repairs if necessary can come with huge costs and no new home owner wants that.
